Patti received a bachelor of science from the University of Minnesota in Human Relationships with an emphasis in Family Dynamics in 1986. She worked in corporate business as a human resources administrator until 1991. At that time Patti went back to graduate school. In 1993 Patti graduated from her masters program in counseling and psychological services. She has been a licensed psychologist since 1996. Patti has extensive training in working with complex trauma, depression, anxiety, and eating disorders. She uses a variety of modalities including EMDR and Sensori-motor Psychotherapy. Patti's work is informed by the latest research in neuroscience, involving the interaction of our biological systems with our cultural and relational environment. Patti's work is greatly influenced by attachment and systems theories. Patti approaches clinical work with collaboration and warmth. She is enthusiastic about peoples' potential for growth, healing and recovery from suffering. Patti is sensitive to her clients needs and respects their competence. She values mutual respect and playfulness in the process of therapy. Patti pursues humanitarian causes nationally. She has volunteered her services in several Church and school settings, speaking on issues of spirituality and body image. ln 2008 Patti went to New Orleans in the aftermath of hurricane Katrina. She worked with on going trauma recovery issues experienced by therapists. She is a volunteer for EMDR’s Humanitarian Assistance Program. |
